The CID has arrested five suspects, including the main suspect, in the killing of four people in Udawalawe around a fortnight about.

Police also seized the firearm said to have been used in the murders and a gold chain robbed from the victims.

The main suspect is a resident of the area and he has made a confession to the CID, giving all details of the circumstances that had led to the killings.

The gang had gone to rob the house of a businessman, and the four people there had been killed as they had identified the assailants.

The suspects are due to be produced before courts today (Oct. 24).
