United National Party MP Palitha Range Bandara has alleged that UPFA MP Arundika Fernando assaulted him outside the Chamber in Parliament.
The UNP Parliamentary Group in protest at this assault had walked out of the chambers.
Speaking to Palitha Range Bandara said that he was appointed to open the debate from the opposition on the expenditure heads of the Ministry of Defence.
However, he said that he was presenting facts regarding the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission Report, the injustice caused to Sarath Fonseka, human rights violations and the deteriorating law and order situation among other issues amidst the continuous disruption by Government members.
Range Bandara said that when he arrived at the Parliament lobby after concluding his speech, he was assualted by Arundika Fernando. |
